Creating a Timeline

The Timeline organizes case events chronologically, helping legal professionals track and analyze cases visually.

Updated over a year ago

Timelines are automatically generated based on all summary cards associated with a case, aggregating information from multiple documents:

  • Summary cards with dates are organized chronologically in the main timeline view

  • Each summary card's position is determined by its associated date

  • Summary cards without dates are automatically placed in the "Unassigned Cards" section on the right

  • The timeline provides a consolidated view of events across all case documents

This automatic organization ensures that you have a comprehensive overview of your case's chronology while keeping undated information easily accessible in the unassigned section.

Timeline Sections

The Timeline view is divided into two main sections:

1. Timeline Events

  • Contains all summary cards with associated dates

  • Cards are automatically organized chronologically

  • Users can manually reposition cards within the timeline

  • When repositioning, users can:

    • Update the card's date based on its new position

    • Maintain relative positioning to other cards

2. Unassigned Section

  • Houses cards without dates

  • Contains cards manually moved from Timeline Events

  • Allows for flexible organization of non-date-specific information
