Deposition Outline

The Deposition Outline feature, available under Work Products, helps you create comprehensive deposition outlines through a structured workflow.

Creating a Deposition Outline

Users have two options for creating deposition outlines:

  • Manual creation - Craft goals, topics, and questions

  • AI-assisted generation - Let AI help generate the outline components

Initial Setup

To begin creating a deposition outline, fill in the following information:

  • Deposition Title

  • Fact Witness or Expert Witness

  • Witness Name

  • Alias

  • Job Title

  • Witness Position (Favorable to plaintiff/defendant or neutral)

  • Involvement Details

Smart Suggestions

While filling out the deposition details:

  • Related summary cards appear in the right-side panel as suggestions

  • Click on suggestions to view relevant case information

  • Use the "Show Summaries" button to expand all cards and view their complete summaries

The smart suggestion system helps ensure that all relevant case information is readily available while preparing your deposition outline.

Creating Goals

There are two ways to create deposition goals:

  1. Manual Goal Creation - Type your goals directly into the goal field

  2. AI-Generated Goals - Click the thunder icon to generate suggested goals automatically

Generated goals will appear in the right panel, where you can select one or multiple goals before proceeding.

Topic Creation

After setting goals, you can create topics in two ways:

  • Manual topic creation

  • AI-assisted topic generation using the thunder icon

Question Generation

In the fourth step, questions can be created for each goal and topic:

  • Add questions manually for specific topics

  • Generate AI-suggested questions using the thunder icon

  • Review and modify generated questions as needed

Final Review and Export

The final step allows you to review the complete deposition outline:

  • Save as final version or draft

  • Export the outline as a Word document

  • Review all goals, topics, and questions in a structured format

All generated content can be edited and customized to ensure it meets your specific deposition requirements.
