Step 3: Review and Verify Knool Cards

This article will cover how to quickly and efficiently review a document and verify Knool cards

Knool was designed to help you review evidence documentation quickly with a high level of accuracy.

Once you upload a document, Knool will start creating Knool Cards; concise pieces of information that can be used as digital index cards to quickly go through a document

A single Knool card could include information from one or in many cases, multiple pages. This makes the evidence review process easy.

Reviewing a Document Using Knool Cards

Clicking on a document takes you to the Knool Card List view

This view contains a list of cards that have been created for the document, along with a view of the document itself.

Clicking on the cards will change the page view and show you where the information was extracted from

On each card, you can click the Details button to view details

Review Assistance Tools

Themes

Knool's automated theme recognition engine identifies key themes based on case context and contents within the document. These themes are grouped and can be seen at the top of the card list view

You can click on these to view only the relevant cards and complete your review process quickly.

Search

Click the Search button on the top of the card list to see search options

You can start with a keyword or apply a quick filter. Cards matching your search and filters and displayed on the list below

Knool's provides semantic search which uses artificial intelligence to understand the meaning of a search query. It's more powerful different from traditional search engines, which just match the exact keywords

Gaps

Knool's AI-powered information extraction and summarization, although powerful, isn't perfect and could miss certain pages. This means that there could be some gaps in where information was extracted.

By clicking on the Gaps button on top of the card list screen, you can see an interactive page histogram. Gaps are highlighted in red.

Clicking a bar on this visualization will show you the cards that have been create before and after the page in question. You can now review these pages, and if necessary create a card manually.

Verifying a Knool Card

Once you have reviewed the card for accuracy or have edited automatically generated information, you can click Verify to mark the card as verified.

Card verification ensures you have a verified and trusted set of data that can be used in Timelines and Work Products and more. Throughout Knool you will also find quick filters for verified cards to make looking for information easier.

Verify button can be found on the summary view of a card, or in the details view of a card.

Review Score

On the card list of the document, you can find the overall Review Score of a document. This overall score is calculated by giving weighted points to each by it's verification status and the significance.

The review score is higher for a high significant card compared to a low significant card. These scores are aggregated and shown as an overall score for a document. The max review score for a document is 100.
